WHAT IS SEXUAL VICTIMIZATION?
Sexual victimization is a broad term that includes sexual harassment without physical contact through to assault involving sexual contact made via coercion and/or threatened or actual violence.
WHO ARE WE AND WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We are researchers undertaking a research project at Deakin University, Australia. The aim of our study is to test a brief psychological intervention for sexual victimization consisting of an expressive writing reflection exercise. The exercise is designed to help survivors of sexual victimization work through their thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs about sexual victimization.
If you are an adult (18 years or older) who has experienced sexual victimization, we invite you to participate in this study.
Want to discuss your participation with us before deciding?
Dr Jamie Byrne (clinical psychologist) is a member of the research team and able to discuss with you the risks and benefits of the project before participating: jamie.byrne@deakin.edu.au
