Perceptions and experiences of type 2 diabetes prevention programmes among women at midlife
Thank you for your interest in our study on women at midlife and type 2 diabetes prevention programmes.
We would like to speak to
women who know they are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes who:
- completed a programme OR
- started a programme but did not complete it OR
- have not participated in a programme.
What is this study about?
The purpose of this study is to understand what women at midlife think about type 2 diabetes prevention programmes (such as the
Healthier You programme), and to learn more about their experiences if they have participated in one.
It is part of a larger programme of research being carried out by Karen Pearce, a PhD candidate at Coventry University (UK) and Deakin University (Australia).
When complete, this research will help tailor and develop type 2 diabetes prevention programmes that meet the needs and circumstances of women in midlife.
What will I have to do?
If you choose to take part in this study, you will be asked to:
- Complete a short survey which will ask questions about you to help us describe our study participants in general terms e.g. age, employment.
- Take part in an online interview (by Zoom video call via the internet) which will be organised on a day and time that suits you.
What do I do if I want to take part?
To get started, please read the participant information sheet on the following page, then answer a couple of questions so we can determine if you are eligible to participate.
This study has received ethics approval from Deakin University [2024/HE000778] and Coventry University [P185169].
