Expressions of Interest

Deakin University is looking for volunteers from industry and community organisations to have career conversations with young people.

As part of the Deakin Engagement and Access Program (DEAP), Year 9 students engage in FutureME, a careers program that helps to spark career exploration and navigation of future pathways.

Students have an opportunity to engage with working professionals and practise new skills through leading career conversations. Students will benefit from learning about your career journeys and have the opportunity to share their ideas and ask questions as they explore their education pathways.

As a volunteer, you will:
• engage with small groups of students and participate in speed meets to answer career-related questions;
• listen to young people and share your own career journey, current work and future aspirations;
• be a catalyst for motivation, empowerment and information!

You must have a current Victorian Working With Children Check Card (volunteer or employee) or hold a VIT registration. You can apply for free at www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au

Next steps:
1. Complete this online form to register your interest.
2. The FutureME team will then contact you with upcoming event dates and next steps.
